These Terms of Use govern your use of Kovan: Pet Health ("Kovan", "the app", "we", "us"). By using Kovan, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Kovan is an iPhone app that helps pet owners organize veterinary health records. You can photograph vet documents, and our AI will extract and structure the health data for you.

2. Not medical advice

Kovan is an organizational tool, not a medical service. AI-generated summaries, health insights, dosage calculations, interaction checks and reminders are for informational purposes only. They do not replace professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for your pet's health decisions.

3. Your account

• You can use Kovan without registering. If you do register, you must provide accurate information.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

4. Your content

• You retain ownership of all documents and data you upload to Kovan.
• You grant us a limited license to process your documents using AI services and store the extracted data to provide the app's features.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload documents you share with us.

5. AI processing

• Documents you upload are sent to the OpenAI API for analysis.
• AI extraction may contain errors. Always verify extracted data against your original documents.
• We continuously improve parsing accuracy but do not guarantee 100% correctness.

6. Emergency QR page

Each pet profile can include a QR code linking to a public emergency page. This page is accessible to anyone with the link and displays your pet's health and contact information without authentication. You are responsible for deciding where to share or display this QR code. You can disable the page at any time.

7. Subscriptions and trials

• Kovan is free to download and use with limits. Kovan Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or yearly.
• New accounts receive a 14-day Premium trial. If you subscribe, any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase.
• Prices are shown in the app before purchase, in your local currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Kovan for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that is not related to pet health records
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse-engineer or interfere with the app's operation

9. Availability

We aim to keep Kovan available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service unavailability.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kovan is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated health data.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Kovan after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the applicable laws of the country where our service is operated.
